THOUSANDS of dollars in cash, chicken, fish and picnic hams were stolen in several incidents over the weekend.
Police reports are that on Friday, a business from Aranguez was robbed of $70,000 in cash.
The businessman had just left a bank and was in his vehicle proceeding along Coronation Street, Aranguez, when he was blocked by a white vehicle.
He attempted to drive around the car, but three armed masked men exited and announced a hold-up, robbing him of the cash.
The men escaped in the same vehicle.
Staff salaries stolen
In another incident, around 1 pm on Saturday, two men, ages 49 and 29, went to the Double Palm Guest House at Tumpuna Road South, Guanapo, Arima to deliver staff salaries to staff.
Upon reaching the guest house, they were approached by two armed men who robbed them of over $19,000 in salaries, over $6,000 in sales, their personal cell phones and cash.
The victims were also robbed of their own cellular phones and cash.
Meats stolen
And on Sunday morning at around 3 am, police received a report of a robbery at a grocery in Laventille.
Upon checking, it was discovered that several quantities of chicken, fish, and picnic hams were stolen.
Officers were told that the building was secured on Saturday night but residents had informed the owners that the building was broken into.
