SIPARIA – REPUBLIC Bank teller Neisha Cyleane Sankar, 29, wanted to get out of the relationship with her husband Harricharan Ramsundar, 45.

They were having marital problems and while their eight-year-old son slept, just before he was to go to school on Monday, Sankar was chopped to death by her husband.

And at 3 p.m. that same day, Ramsundar’s body was discovered hanging from a tree in a garden not far from his Phulo Drive, Siparia, home.

Neighbours said they were having problems with their marriage and Sankar had left the house on Friday only to return with her son to prepare him for the first day of school on Monday.

Sankar’s body was taken to the Forensic Science Centre, St James, for an autopsy.

Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, led by Insp Daryl Corrie, together with the South Western Division Task Force, searched the bushes for hours with the assistance of the villagers and finally stumbled across the body of Ramsundar on Monday.
