THE national budget 2021/2022 was read a third time and passed in the Senate on Wednesday.
THE Appropriation (Financial Year 2022) Bill, 2021 was passed with 21 votes for, zero votes against and five abstentions following extensive debates in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The Bill was first read by Finance Minister Colm Imbert on October 4.
Last Friday, the Bill was passed in the House of Representatives following a voting with 20 for, none against and 17 abstentions.
This year’s budget is set at $52.4 billion with a deficit of $9 billion.
