Executive Director of the Citizens Union of Trinidad and Tobago (CUTT) Phillip Edward Alexander is adamant that vaccination would not help with the Covid-19 situation in Trinidad and Tobago.

Speaking with AZP News Editor-in-Chief Prior Beharry on The Priority Report on ieTV on Monday evening, he said Covid-19 was deadly to a very small minority of people.

Alexander said, “The minority of people fell into the category of obese or people who have serious underlying conditions or considered to be very elderly. Even those people can be saved, if the medical professionals handling the virus in your country knows how to go after it and treat it.”

He said, “Ninety percent of the people who have died from Covid-19 were obese.”

Alexander made reference to bodybuilders, who he said do not understand that this was also a form of obesity to their organs and immune system.

He said, “We are dealing with a vaccine that does not work.”

Alexander said Covid-19 booster shots in Israel were not working as that country was seeing an increase in infections.

He said Israel’s was a living test case which showed that vaccination does not work in the fight against Covid-19.

Alexander said, “In every drug that you take, there’s a reward or risk and you have to weigh those things.”

He said “The at-risk population to any illness was the population you want to protect. We knew that the elderly were at serious risk, and so to the people who had underlying conditions.

“Anything that is compromising your body’s ability to treat with and fight off infections, needs a support and Ivermectin does that.”

He said the anti-parasite drug Ivermectin which was once demonised, was being cloned by Pfizer since anti-virals were the way to stop Covid-19.

Alexander said research showed that Ivermectin worked in countries like Brazil and India where there were massive outbreaks.

Regarding the Delta variant, he said, “It was less a potent version of Covid-19. It was more contagious, but less deadly.”

Alexander called for the economy to be fully re-opened and prepare for any bump in cases.

He said, “The rush to vaccinate people seemed to have trumped everything else that we could have considered as a way to manage this.

“We have completely destroyed the middle class of T&T, they may still be open for business, but they can’t pay their bills, mortgages, rent.”

Alexander said, “Since 2020, we had known that a number of obese persons in the country and we could have encouraged people to eat healthy, to exercise. We could have had people out on the beach, around the savannah with social distancing and washing of the hands, but reduce your body mass index and reduce your weight.”

Alexander said that statements about persons unaware of serious comorbidities were false, as persons were aware as they would be presented with different symptoms.

He said, “People may be irresponsible and not take care of themselves, but you can not vaccinate and isolate an entire country for the few who are not taken care of themselves

  1. So I have heard Philip’s argument, and I am puzzled by the fact that the majority of the countries worldwide is opting for the vaccines, primarily because it is said to prevent hospitalisation requiring intensive care.
I would opt to not vaccinate if there were clinics offering specialised treatment using ivermectin and other drugs. This isn’t available in T & T !
