Member of Police Service Commission Resigns

MERE minutes before an application of an injunction to put back Gary Griffith as commissioner of police comes word that a member of the Police Service Commission (PolSC) has resigned.

A release by President Paula-Mae Weekes on Tuesday afternoon stated that she accepted the resignation of Courtney A McNish as a member of the PolSC.

Griffith has applied for an injunction to declare null and void the decision of the PolSC to send him on administration leaveĀ  pending an investigation by retired Justice Stanley John in the firearms unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

The court matter was expected to begin in a virtual hearing in the High Court before Justice Ricky Rahim on Tuesday afternoon.
