TROPICAL Storm Grace has formed and is heading for the Leeward Islands.
Trinidad and Tobago Metrological Service (TTMS) meteorologist, Jean-Marc Rampersad said, “Tropical Storm Grace was located at 5pm approximately 675km east of the Leeward Islands.”
The Met Office said that Tropical Storm Grace was moving westward near 35 km/hr.
“A motion toward the west or west-northwest with a gradual decrease in forward speed is expected during the next few days. On this projected track, the centre of Tropical Storm Grace is forecast to move over the Leeward Islands tonight.”

- Kitts and Nevis
- Montserrat
- Saba and Sint Eustatius
- Sint Maarten
- Martin and St. Barthelemy
- S. Virgin Islands
- Puerto Rico,
- Vieques and Culebra
A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.
However, a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the British Virgin Islands. This means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area within 48 hours.
TTMS stated, “At this time, the system poses no direct threat to Trinidad and Tobago or Grenada and its dependencies.”
However, there is a high chance of isolated thunderstorms favouring the afternoon and members of the public are asked to be cautious of gusty winds and street\flash flooding which is likely with associated heavy downpours.
