A San Juan woman is on $15,000 bail for attempting to steal items from an Arima Supermarket.
Police reported on Monday that Betty Mullins, 44, of Pickaxe Trace, San Juan, appeared virtually before Magistrate Avion Gill at the Arima Magistrates’ Court charged with larceny.
She was granted $15,000 bail with a surety.
On Sunday based on a report, officers of the Arima Municipal Police proceeded to Xtra Foods Supermarket on O’Meara Road, Arima.
Upon their arrival, they met a security guard at the supermarket who said that a woman allegedly took $990 worth of items and attempted to leave the store without paying.
The security had detained the woman and contacted the police.
WPC O’Connell arrested the woman and took her to the Arima Municipal Police Station where she was charged.
Mullins is expected to reappear virtually at the Arima Magistrates’ Court on August 13.
