THE Soca Warriors victory against St Kitts and Nevis is for all of Trinidad and Tobago says Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
She congratulated the team on their 6-2 win in the 2026 World Cup qualifier match held at a packed-out Hasely Crawford stadium on Friday night.

In a statement on Saturday, she said, “The entire team must be praised for their determination and hard work in ensuring our national flag is flown high and proudly. Dante Sealy must be specially congratulated for scoring two of these goals.
“Levi Garcia, Kevin Molino, Ajani Fortune, and Nathaniel James, each scoring a goal, also deserve special mention.
“Coach Dwight Yorke, a World Cup veteran and one of our nation’s most acclaimed international and local footballers, deserves praise for his strategic and diligent work ensuring the Soca Warriors’ impressive victory.”

As the Trinidad and Tobago national football team now prepares to play Costa Rica on June 10, in another World Cup qualifier, Persad-Bissessar wished the team the best.
At her post-Cabinet media conference on Thursday, the prime minister had encouraged citizens to go out and support the team in Friday’s matches.
Former prime minister Stuart Young who attended the match also posted on his Facebook page, “Well done Trinidad and Tobago. Well pleased with our 6-2 victory at the Hasely Crawford Stadium last night. We continue on our journey. The crowd was amazing.”
