HEALTH Minister Terrence Deyalsingh on Monday received his second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The announcement was made by the ministry’s Manager of Corporate Communications Candice Alcantara.
Deyalsingh did not attend Monday’s virtual media briefing hosted by the Ministry of Health.
He was got his initial vaccine from the first batch that arrived in Trinidad and Tobago at the end of March from the COVAX facility.
Deyalsingh received his first jab on April 6.
Speaking to the media from the mass vaccination site at Queen’s Park Savannah where he was administered his second dose, the minister again encouraged the population to get vaccinated.
“Vaccinations are safe, vaccinations are effective, vaccinations will save lives. Vaccinations will save you from going to the hospital and by and large if we vaccinate people, this country is in a very good position in the shortest possible time,” Deyalsingh said.
