By Sue-Ann Wayow
THERE is to be no selling of prepared food including deliveries or pickups and hardwares are to be closed from next week.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley on Saturday during a press conference.
There are no changes other measures already put in place. Bakeries and groceries will remain open.
Dr Rowley said this was necessary as Covid-19 positive cases remain extremely high in Trinidad and Tobago.
He said, “We are going to make two adjustments. Total closure of the external food support for selling of prepared food… hardwares are to be closed for the next week “
This does not apply to those selected caterers who were preparing food for essential workers whom Dr Rowley referred to as “essential catering.”
The Prime Minister said given the current closure of construction activity, hardwares were supposed to simply act as a place to go to for emergency supplies.
At the end the next week, adjustments may or may not be made depending on the Covid-19 situation.
