FIVE men are arrested with a shotgun and are helping police with their investigations into a spate of robberies in south Trinidad.
The men ranging in ages from 20 to 45 were arrested on Thursday night during a mobile patrol along the SS Erin Road, Palmiste.
In a release on Friday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that around 10 pm on Thursday, PCs Thompson and Roopchand were on mobile patrol when they observed a silver Tiida speeding, they proceeded to stop the vehicle, along Church Street, Duncan Village and conducted a search.
During the search of the vehicle a shotgun was discovered in the front passenger seat.
The men were arrested and taken to the Debe Police Post with the assistance of Cpl Ramdass and Emergency Response Patrol officers from the San Fernando Police Station.
The men were assisting police officers with their investigation into the seizure of the shotgun.
They will appear on an identification parade today, as they are suspected to be involved in several robberies in the Southern Division, police said.
