THE United States and United Kingdom extends kudos to the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) on winning the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Thursday.
The US Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago posted a video of the team’s celebrations on its Facebook page.
The embassy posted, “Congratulations to Trinbago Knight Riders the CPL T20 2020 champions from Ambassador Mondello and the staff at the US Embassy. #greatcricket#sportsdiplomacy.”
The British High Commission posted, “We’re ready for this good news! Congratulations to the Trinbago Knight Riders on making CPL T20 history with your 4th win! An amazing (though unusual) CPL experience for us here at #UkinTT.”
Several key persons have sent congratulatory messages to the team for winning a fourth consecutive title including Bollywood star and owner Shah Rukh Khan, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and Opposition Leader , Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
The games were conducted under strict Covid-19 protocols in closed doors to the public.
