BARS and places of worship are connected to the spread of Covid-19.
Speaking at the virtual medial conference on Monday Epidemiologist in the Ministry of Health Dr Avery Hinds said, “The epidemiological investigations done so far have, in fact, tied several clusters that weren’t related to each other, initially, to some of the gathering places that we have identified and spoke about repeatedly at the press conferences.”
He said, “We did see several webs contained or connected by a card tournament that went from one bar to the next, we saw webs that there were connected to persons attending religious gatherings while ill.”
Dr Hinds added, “We saw persons in workplaces when they were ill and symptomatic generating webs of contacts and if those persons then went on to any other informal gatherings, they connected other networks of people and the contact tracing did reveal same.”
