SIX women were among the eight people to have died due to Covid-19, the Ministry of Health is reporting on Friday.

In its update #815, the ministry reported 321 new cases taken from samples during the period August 9 to 12.

The deaths were of two elderly men and six elderly women all with comorbidities.

The ministry stated that out of the 82 Covid-19 patients at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, 15 were in ICU and 24 in HDU.
