FIVE hundred marijuana trees were destroyed on Tuesday.
Police reported on Wednesday that a joint anti-crime exercise in the Santa Flora district resulted in the discovery of the marijuana trees each around five feet tall and 200 seedlings amounting to a street value of $700,000.
Around 2pm, officers of the South-Western Division Task Force (SWDTF), the Special Intelligence Unit (SIU) and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) proceeded to Dickie Trace, Sobo Village, Palo Seco, where a search was conducted in a bushy area approximately 400 feet from the roadway.
There, officers discovered the marijuana field. The plants were uprooted and destroyed. No one has been arrested.
