5 More Covid-19 Deaths, 395 New Cases

FIVE more people have died from Covid-19 on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Health in its latest update (#1,030) reported 395 new positive cases.

The ministry also stated that 141,552 boosters have been administered while 50.5% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is fully vaccinated.

The five deaths included:

  • 2 elderly men; and

  • 3 elderly women

Four out of the five people had multiple comorbidities, while one had one comorbidity. Some of the diseases included hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, a history of strokes and dementia.

Deaths: 3,695

Total deaths by vaccination status as at March 16, 2022: 3,050 (not fully vaccinated), 255 (fully vaccinated), 390 prior to the vaccination programme.

Patients in hospital: 205

Total persons fully vaccinated: 706,548

Total persons not fully vaccinated: 693,452

Boosters administered: 141, 552

Patients in the parallel healthcare system who were not fully vaccinated were 13,992 or 82.6%, while 2,948 or 17.4% were fully vaccinated based on data from July 22, 2021 to March 16, 2022.

March 6: 7 deaths, 437 cases;

March 7: 6 deaths, 132 cases;

March 8: 2 deaths, 432 cases;

March 9: 2 deaths, 414 cases;

March 10: 4 deaths, 462 cases;

March 11: 3 deaths, 543 cases;

March 12: 5 deaths, 325 cases;

March 13: 3 deaths,  225 cases;

March 14: 2 deaths, 218 cases;

March 15: 4 deaths, 242 cases;

March 16: 5 deaths, 395 cases.
