FIVE inmates of the Youth Training Rehabilitation Centre in Golden Grove have escaped early Thursday morning.
The Trinidad and Tobago Prison around 2.45 a.m, officers on duty at the Youth Training Rehabilitation Centre were alerted by charges in the western dormitory that an escape was in progress.
An alarm was raised and the officers responded, but five (5) charges had already made their escape through the ceiling.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service was immediately contacted.
The escapees, Dillano Marcano, Jaden Fletcher, Anthony Ramsumir, Shakeel Brian Seepersad and Darren Scott are all charged for murder.
A search is currently underway by members of the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to locate the escapees as quickly as possible.
An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances leading to this incident, the Prisons Service stated in a release.
The escapees are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if seen.
