A YOUNG adult male is now the country’s fourth case of the Mpox virus.

This was confirmed via laboratory testing conducted on Thursday, the Ministry of Health stated in a media release that afternoon.

The ministry said the County Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) was currently conducting an epidemiological investigation and has initiated the local public health response, which includes home isolation and contact tracing for the patient.

The ministry again reminded the public to follow the general hygiene principles such as frequent handwashing and sanitising of high-touch surfaces.

Persons experiencing signs or symptoms of Mpox should visit the nearest health facility.

Signs and symptoms include rash, fever, sore throat, headaches, muscles, back pain, low energy and swollen lymph nodes.
