4 More Covid-19 Deaths, 173 New Cases

FOUR ore people have died from Covid-19 on Friday.

The Ministry of Health in its latest update (#1032) reported 173 new positive cases.

The ministry also stated that 142,225 boosters have been administered while 50.5% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is fully vaccinated.

The four  deaths included:

  • 1 elderly man;

  • 1 elderly woman; and

  • 2  young adult men.

One out of the four people had multiple comorbidities which included ESRD and heart disease, while the three others had no known comorbidities.

Active cases: 10,151

Deaths: 3,704

Total deaths by vaccination status as at March 16, 2022: 3,050 (not fully vaccinated), 255 (fully vaccinated), 390 prior to the vaccination programme.

Patients in hospital: 181

Total persons fully vaccinated: 707,021

Total persons not fully vaccinated: 692,979

Boosters administered: 142, 225

Patients in the parallel healthcare system who were not fully vaccinated were 13,992 or 82.6%, while 2,948 or 17.4% were fully vaccinated based on data from July 22, 2021, to March 16, 2022.

March 2: 5 deaths, 546 cases;

March 7: 6 deaths, 132 cases;
