AN earthquake was felt at around 2.48 pm on Wednesday.
The University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.9. It occurred along the north-western side of Trinidad and Tobago.
The centre stated on its Facebook page, “On December 23rd at 2. 48pm local time, an earthquake occurred northwest of Trinidad and Tobago. It was located at 10.904°N and 61.768°W with a magnitude of 3.9 and depth of 42.72km.”
The centre added, “Please note that this information is preliminary and is subject to change when it is reviewed by a seismologist.”
Several persons who commented on the page said they were unaware that an earthquake even took place.
