TWENTY-five Venezuelan women are held in and anti-crime exercise in Icacos overnight.
Police said a Nigerian and Trinidadian were also arrested by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise conducted between 3pm on Saturday and 5am on Sunday.
During the exercise, officers paid special attention to the Icacos area where they arrested the Venezuelan women for illegal entry into the ports of Trinidad.
The Nigerian and the Trinidadian are suspected of aiding and abetting in human trafficking.
The detained persons were taken to the Santa Flora and Erin Police Stations and the Immigration Department was contacted.
Also taking part were officers of the South Western Division’s Intelligence Unit.
Investigations are ongoing.
