TWENTY-seven people were arrested at a house party in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, during a roving exercise in Area East and Central of the Northern Division on Wednesday night.
According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, officers conducted several checks during the hours of 7pm on Wednesday and 1am on Thursday in the Wallerfield, Arima and Arouca districts.
They received information which led them to the house where a group of 15 men and 12 women were attending a house party.
They were found to be in breach of the Public Health Regulations and were also in breach of the curfew under the Emergency Powers Regulations. They were arrested and profiled. Charges are expected to be laid by way of summons.
During the same exercise, several persons were stopped and searched, search warrants executed, and one person ticketed for failing to wear a facemask while in a public place.
The exercise was coordinated by ACP Andy Belfon, Snr Supt Renzey Ramdeen and Supt Powder, spearheaded by SP Powder, Insp Pitt and acting Sgt Pamphille and supervised by acting Cpl Bedase and PC Romany. Also included were a party of officers from Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) Area East Intelligence Team, K-9 Unit and members of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard (TTAG).
