TWO suspects who were held mere minutes following an alleged robbery at a supermarket on Wednesday are currently being interrogated by detectives at the Rio Claro Police Station.
Police also recovered an imitation firearm, an undisclosed amount of cash, several bottles of brandy and Scotch whisky and cigarettes which were allegedly taken during a report of robbery with aggravation.
The suspects are a 24-year-old man from Naparima Mayaro Road, Tableland, and a 25-year-old man from Local Road, Tableland.
According to police reports, at 7.50 pm on Wednesday a cashier and packer at a supermarket were at their counter when two men entered, made a purchase and pointed a black object at them, while announcing a robbery.

Police were later contacted and officers who were on patrol nearby as well as officers attached to the Eastern Division Emergency Response Patrol immediately responded.
At 8.10 pm, the team of police officers spotted and intercepted a white AD wagon along the Naparima Mayaro Road, Poole Village, Rio Claro, where a search allegedly resulted in the discovery of the stolen cash, items and the imitation weapon.
