THE Government has named two out of three members of a commission of enquiry to investigate the death of four divers in an underwater sealine at Paria Fuel Trading Company facility on February 25.

Minister of Energy Stuart Young made the announcement at the post-cabinet press conference today.

The enquiry will be chaired by Jamaican Justice Cecil Dennis Morrison, QC, and will also include subsea specialist Gregory Wilson.

Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj, SC, will be the lead counsel for the commission.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley quashed an investigative panel of three people after one of its members Eugene Tiah pulled out after objections from the Opposition.

Young said the search is on for a third commissioner who should be a representative from an international investigative firm with experience in conducting probes into large accidents in an industrial setting.

He said the enquiry will have public sitting but could interview witnesses in camera.

Young said the enquiry will have six months to present its report from the date of its first public sitting.
