TWO people are missing after a fishing trip near Blanchisseuse Bay on Thursday.
A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTGC) on Thursday stated that the missing men were fishing on rocks when they were swept away by waves near Blanchisseuse Bay, on the North Coast of Trinidad.
The TTCG initiated a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation that involved its own patrol vessel which commenced searches in the area for the two missing Persons In water (PIWs).
TTGC said, “These two persons remain unaccounted for but the Coast Guard will continue its operations with partner agencies as the operations continue.”
Officials stated the TTGC will continue to provide border security and other services in the face of the threat of Covid-19 in order to maintain the safety and security of Trinidad and Tobago through the conduct of maritime security and safety patrols within their area of operations.
