2 Bodies Found Over Easter Weekend

THE relaxing Easter weekend was marred by two bodies being found.

The body of 18-year-old Declon Estrada was found on Sunday in Toco.

Estrada was bathing at Penzance Beach, Rampanalgas at about 3.15 pm on Saturday when he got into difficulty in the water. His body was found at around 8 am on Sunday.

Led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, the Hunters Search and Rescue Team  joined family members on the search. 

Toco police officers were immediately informed of the discovery.

Estrada was from Coalmine Village, Sangre Grande.

Body of elderly man found 

On Friday, the body of  72-year-old Robert James Sooran was discovered.

Sooran was reported missing since last week Wednesday after leaving his Malgretoute home in Princes Town to visit his garden camp nearby. 

The Hunters Search and Rescue Team  led by Rambharat, responded to a distress call from his family.

Around 1.15 pm, the Team located his body, about three kilometres from his garden camp. 

ASP Darryl Ramdass, who leads the Anti Kidnapping Unit, TTPS and who was part of the planning process for the search was immediately contacted and police officers of the Princes Town Police Station responded together with Crime Scene investigators, Homicide and the District Medical Officer responded. 

The cause of death is yet to be determined.
