THE Ministry of National Security has reported that 160 Venezuelans were deported back to their home country on Saturday.
In a media release it stated the deportation of 160 Venezuelans was done in conjunction with Venezuelan authorities.
It stated, “The Ministry of National Security remains resolute in upholding the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in an effort to protect its citizens.”
It added, “While the government acknowledges that there may be personal views surrounding the illegal entry into Trinidad and Tobago by persons, the Government through the ministry of National Security and other arms of the state, will continue to apply the laws and do all that it reasonably can to secure the borders and prevent illegal entry into Trinidad and Tobago.
“The measures being taken including the closure of our borders are to protect the health and safety of our citizens and those legally in Trinidad and Tobago.”
The ministry reminded of its exercise last year to assist Venezuelans, the Venezuelan Migrant Registration Exercise for all Venezuelans present in Trinidad and Tobago resulting of this exercise was that 16,523 Venezuelans were registered and permitted to be legally in the country.
The release stated that Minister of National Security Stuart Young was informed via a media report, that certain lawyers approached a High Court Judge, ex parte, and that the judge made certain orders pertaining to some Venezuelans who are in Trinidad and Tobago illegally.
The state was not represented at this hearing and the minister has spoken to the Attorney General Faris Al Rawi, for this particular matter to be appropriately addressed.

160 Venezolanos Deportados El Sábado

EL Ministerio de Seguridad Nacional informó que 160 venezolanos fueron deportados de regreso a su país de origen el sábado.
En un comunicado de prensa indicó que la deportación de 160 Venezolanos se realizó en conjunto con las autoridades Venezolanas.
Declaró: “El Ministerio de Seguridad Nacional sigue decidido a respetar las leyes de la República de Trinidad y Tobago en un esfuerzo por proteger a sus ciudadanos.”
Añadió: “Si bien el gobierno reconoce que puede haber opiniones personales en torno a la entrada ilegal de personas a Trinidad y Tobago, el gobierno a través del ministerio de Seguridad Nacional y otras ramas del estado, continuará aplicando las leyes y hará todo lo posible razonablemente que pueda para asegurar las fronteras y prevenir la entrada ilegal a Trinidad y Tobago.
“Las medidas que se están tomando, incluido el cierre de nuestras fronteras, son para proteger la salud y la seguridad de nuestros ciudadanos y de los que se encuentran legalmente en Trinidad y Tobago.”
El ministerio recordó de su ejercicio el año pasado para asistir a los Venezolanos, el Ejercicio de Registro de Migrantes Venezolanos para todos los Venezolanos presentes en Trinidad y Tobago resultante de este ejercicio fue que 16.523 venezolanos fueron registrados y permitidos estar legalmente en el país.
El comunicado indicó que el ministro de Seguridad Nacional, Stuart Young, fue informado a través de un informe de los medios, que ciertos abogados se acercaron a un juez del Tribunal Superior, ex parte, y que el juez emitió ciertas órdenes relativas a algunos venezolanos que se encuentran en Trinidad y Tobago ilegalmente.
El estado no estuvo representado en esta audiencia y el ministro ha hablado con el Fiscal General Faris Al Rawi, para que este asunto en particular sea abordado de manera apropiada.
