$150K in Stolen Items Recovered by Police

STOLEN washing machines, stoves, freezers and fridges valued at approximately $150,000 have been found by police. 

The appliances were allegedly taken some time between November 1 and November 15, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated in a media release on Tuesday.

The appliances were recovered on Monday night by detectives leading investigations into a warehouse breaking and larceny report in Barataria. 

During the operation, officers of the Barataria Criminal Investigations Department (CID) executed two search warrants for Stolen Articles at the homes of a 62-year-old man from Petit Bourg, San Juan and a 56-year-old man from Ninth Avenue and Second Street, Barataria.

When CID detectives searched the premises, they allegedly discovered 11 washing machines, eight stoves, five chest freezers, three refrigerators.  

Also, one black Toyota Hilux was seized at the property of the 56-year-old, pending further investigations.  The men are expected to be charged soon.
