A 14-year-old boy is expected to appear virtually before the Children’s Court on Tuesday for the murder of a 44-year-old St Joseph man.
A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said the teenager was charged for the murder of Dial Seepersad July 2, 2020.
The teenager who resides in the Northern Division, was charged with the offence on Monday, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC.
Seepersad of St. Joseph, was walking along Dookiesingh Street, St Augustine, on July 2 when he was approached by a teenager and an altercation ensued.
During the incident, the teenager stabbed Seepersad in his chest before escaping. Seepersad died at the scene.
An investigation was launched into the matter and the minor was arrested that same day in the presence of his mother.
The boy was charged with the offence by WPC La Fortune-Salina of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region 2.
