FOUR people have died due to Covid-19 on the first day of April.
The Ministry of Health in its latest update (#1,046) reported 299 new positive cases.
The ministry also stated that 145,843 boosters have been administered while 50.7% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is fully vaccinated.
The four deaths included:

1 elderly man;

2 elderly women; and
-
1 middle-aged man.
Three out of four persons had multiple comorbidities while the other had one comorbidity. Some of these included diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, lung disease, liver disease and endocrine disease.

Patients in the parallel healthcare system who were not fully vaccinated were 14,274 or 82.3%, while 3,065 or 17.7% were fully vaccinated based on data from July 22, 2021, to March 30, 2022.
For the year 2022:
January: 535 deaths, 19, 650 cases
February: 224 deaths, 16, 218 cases
March: 122 deaths, 10,000 cases
April 1: 4 deaths, 299 Cases
