UNC Internal Elections on December 6

THE highly anticipated United National Congress (UNC) internal elections will be held on December 6.

This was announced by UNC’s political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar during the party’s virtual meeting on Monday night at the end of her feature address.

Persad-Bissessar announced that the party’s nomination day will be held on November 15 at the party’s headquarters in Exchange Village Couva and nomination forms will be available from this week.

She said, “I have a very important announcement to make tonight. We want to serve notice as follows: Take notice that the UNC’s internal elections to elect a new national executive for our party will be held on Sunday December 6, 2020.

“Nomination day will be Sunday 15, November, 2020 from 8 am to 4 pm at party’s headquarters Exchange Village Couva.

“Nomination forms will be available at party’s headquarters from Thursday 29, October 2020 on weekdays, 8 am to 4 pm”

She said, “Take note that these elections will be conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution and further take notice the elections will be conducted in compliance with any relevant Covid regulations on that day.”

A message to those vying for a position in the party Persad-Bissessar said, “For those of you, elections are called, come brave be strong, put your nomination form in.”
