Two Venezuelans Charged for Marijuana Possession

TWO Venezuelans have been charged with possession of marijuana in San Fernando.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated that the men were arrested and charged during an anti-crime exercise conducted on Friday in San Fernando.

The TTPS stated that during the exercise, several drug blocks were searched and acting on information officers went to Shah Street, San Fernando, where they searched two Venezuelans who were walking on the said road.

Yamil Jose Diaz, 50, of Shah Street, San Fernando/Tucupita, Venezuela, was searched and officers found in his backpack a quantity of marijuana that weighed 1,028 grammes.

He was arrested and charged for the offence of trafficking cannabis.

Osmer Enrique Gonzales Hernanadez, 32, also of Shah Street, San Fernando/Tucupita, Venezuela, was searched and officers found on him a quantity of marijuana which weighed 541 grams.

He was arrested and charged for possession of cannabis, the TTPS stated.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Wayne Mohammad, Supt Nobbee, Asp Ali Mohammad, Insp Teeluck, supervised by Sgt Joseph, Sgt Barran and Cpl (Ag) Phoolchan.
