PRINCES TOWN – POLICE are investigating the fatal shooting of the son of a businessman and his friend.

Reports indicated that Craig Hoi-Pong, 39,  the son of the owner of an auditorium in Princes Town, and his friend Neera Ramnath, 39, were killed while at Nia Valley TNT resort in Matilda in Princes Town on Sunday afternoon.

Another man Stephen Bovell was shot  in the shoulder and was rushed to hospital.

Police said they were told that a gunman dressed in Muslim garb walked up to a vehicle where Hoi-Pong was in and opened fire.

Two other gunmen then entered the compound and shot Ramnath and Bovell.

Investigators are working on  the theory that the shooting took place because Ramnath was closely affiliated to the wife of a Chaguanas businessman who was killed sometime ago.

Police said it may have been a case of mistaken identity as the wife of the dead businessman was also on the premises.

Hoi-Pong’s father Carl took to Facebook on Sunday to say that he was not shot.

His son who has a car detailing business in the United States was in Trinidad for a short time.
