KOLKATA – AUSTRALIAN Pat Cummings has become the most expensive buy for an overseas player in the history of the Indian Premier League when the Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for about US$2.2 million.

The IPL 2020 auction which took place in Kolkata on Thursday also saw West Indies player Sheldon Cottrell go for about US$1.2 million to the Kings XI Punjab.

Dehli Capital also got Guyanese Shimron Hetmyer for US$1.1million.

Another speedster and Australian Nathan Coulter-Nile was bought by Mumbai Indians for US$1.1million.

Piyush Chawla, 31, was the most expensive Indian pick going to the Chennai Super Kings for US$950,000.
