Reopening of Red House: List of Streets for Traffic Restrictions in POS

Workers preparing for Red House reopening on Friday

PORT-OF-SPAIN – TRAFFIC restrictions will take place in Port-of-Spain on Friday for reopening of the Red House and the return of the Parliament to the historic building.

By a Legal Notice No. 20 under Section 68 (1) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith has prohibited parking from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the following streets:

  1. St Vincent Street, between Duke Street and Independence Square North;
  2. Sackville Street, between Richmond Street and St Vincent Street;
  3. Abercromby, Independence Square North and Park Street;
  4. Knox Street, between St Vincent Street and Frederick Street;
  5. Edward Street, between Independence Square North and Park Street;
  6. Hart Street;
  7. Duke Street, between Frederick Street and Edward Street
  8. Pembroke Street, between Knox and Park Street
  9. Henry Street, between Independence Square North and Park Street; and
  10. Queen Street, between Frederick Street and Edward Street.https://www.facebook.com/cxc.masters

And from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., vehicular traffic will be prohibited in the following streets:

  1. St Vincent Street, between Duke Street and Queen Street;
  2. Hart Street;
  3. Abercromby Street, between Independence Square North and Park Street
  4. Knox Street; and
  5. Sackville Street, between Edward Street and St Vincent Street.

 

A taxi dri­ver ply­ing –

  1. the St. Ann’s route from Hart Street, shall op­er­ate from the south­ern side of Queen Street, be­tween Fred­er­ick Street and Aber­crom­by Street; and
  2. the St. James route from Hart Street, shall op­er­ate from the north­ern side of In­de­pen­dence North, be­tween Fred­er­ick Street and Henry Street
