Police Use Tear Gas at Hong Kong Protests

HONG KONG – PRO-democracy demonstrators have took to the street for the second day on Sunday to protest against alleged police brutality.

Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters trying to reach the Chinese government’s office, the BBC is reporting.

BBC stated that the streets of Sai Wan and Causeway Bay are filled with tens of thousands of protestors.

And this if the eight consecutive weekend of anti-government and pro-democracy protests.

According to the BBC, it is ranked as one of the safest cities in the world “but recent protests have been followed by violent clashes between demonstrators, police and masked men wielding sticks suspected of being criminal gang members.”
