FISHERMEN and Friends of the Sea (FFOS) says it is patiently waiting for the resumption of a supply of regular gas.

In a release on Friday, FFOS congratulated the Oilfield Workers Trade Union (OWTU) in acquiring the Pointe-a-Pierre refinery through his wholly own company Patriotic Energies and Technologies Services Limited.

The release referred to an article in the Daily Express of December 19, 2018 titled, “We will bring back affordable gas.”

The release stated, “President of the OWTU Ancil Roget has promised the return of affordable regular gas, should they manage the purchase of former energy company Petrotrin’s defunct Pointe-a-Pierre Refinery.

“Further to this, in a radio interview on Power 102 FM this Monday, Mr. Roget again assured the public of the return of regular gas for fishermen.

“Mr, Roget’s statement has created a reasonable expectation in our fishing communities. We look forward and patiently await the resumption of regular gas supplies and hold him to his promise to re-establish the availability of regular gas to this vital sector.”
