AFTER targeting a St Joseph businessman at the Piarco International Airport, a follow-up investigation by the police saw him being arrested for cocaine possession.

Police said the 38-year-old businessman first came on the radar last Monday when a police officer at a check point at the airport was given two tins of corned beef by a flight attendant.

When the tins were searched by the police officer, he found it to contain 940 grammes of cocaine.

The attendant told the officer that he was given the tins by the businessman.

Police then visited the businessman at his Curepe restaurant where they found another quantity of cocaine weighing 104 grammes.

He was arrested on Saturday afternoon and taken to the St Joseph Police Station.
