MINISTER of Transport and Aviation, Senator Eli Zakour and the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) have identified four strategic priorities to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience and position Trinidad and Tobago as a viable destination for air carriers.
In a release sent by the Ministry of Transport and Aviation on Monday afternoon, the Ministry said Zakour had held discussions with the AATT as part of his ongoing consultations with State Agencies under the newly formed Ministry.
During these discussions Zakour stressed the need for improved coordination with Immigration and Customs and Excise Division, the integration of modern technology and improved parking logistics.
The four top priorities that emerged from the meeting were:
- Seamless Passenger Processing through inter-ministerial coordination with Customs and Excise.
- Boosting Cargo Traffic to create increased revenue and position TT as a regional logistics hub
- Modernise Parking Solutions through the upgrade of the existing infrastructure
- Integration of modern technology to improve the faster processing of passengers.
Zakour said these improvements would not only greatly improve operational efficiency but make TT more attractive for air carriers and their passengers.
He said he remained committed to his mandate of continuous engagement, innovation and collaborative planning.
