POWER, resilience, and achievements of Trinidad and Tobago women excelling in sports was celebrated by St Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando during their Sports Day 2025.
The event was held last recently at Naparima College Ground, Lewis St, San Fernando and honoured athletes dedication, strength and passion as pupils, parents and teachers participated in friendly competition in a variety of races.
Kicking off the event was the March Past assisted by the Presentation College Sea Scouts Band.
The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Services (TTFS) conducted the events and also assisted with providing the judges and Parade Commander for the March Past. This, in addition to providing First Aid services.
Members of the school’s five houses Blessed Anne Marie, Notre Dame, St Theresa, St Xavier and St Joseph took part several races such as: “Fill de Bottle, Clothes Pin Relay, Crab Race” to name a few, while teachers participated in “Pass d Coconut” race.
Emerging victorious in both the March Past and Sports Day events was the house St Xavier.
Main coordinator for the event was St Joseph Convent’s Physical Education teacher Dr Shelly-Ann Chin Soong.
Also attending the Sports Day was national paralympic swimmer Shanntol Ince.
The TTFS, The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Principal of Presentation College San Fernando, Dexter Mitchell, Presentation College Sea Scouts Band, Naparima College, Blue Waters Products Limited and Caribbean Bottlers Trinidad and Tobago Limited were all thanked for their assistance and contribution on the day.
