A NUMBER of packages ordered online by customers have been stolen from Web Source warehouse in Trincity.
Two company vans were also stolen as bandits stormed the facility located at the Trincity Business Park early Tuesday morning.
The company’s chief executive officer Lincoln Maharaj told the media he received a phone call around 4.30 am from the security company with the person saying that two vans were stolen.
Maharaj arrived shortly at the compound and upon further checks saw that the shutters of the warehouse were cut open.
It was then he realised that customers’ cargo would have been stolen which was of more concern.
Maharaj said to his understanding eight bandits were involved but he still has to view the CCTV coverage.
He said the company was dealing with the situation as best as it could and the warehouse will be open for business on Tuesday.
Police said both vans were recovered in Laventille hours after. One was found at Wharton Street and the other at Sylbert Street. Both were empty.
Editor’s note: This story was updated to reflect that two of the vans were recovered empty.
