Water Disruption in NE Trinidad

RESIDENTS in parts of North East Trinidad will have water supply interruption from 6 pm on Wednesday, September 25, to 10 pm on Thursday, September 26.

In a release, the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) announced that the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant will undergo emergency repairs, leading to the disruption.

The repairs aim to fix a leak on a crucial 42-inch transmission pipeline. Areas affected include Brazil, La Horquetta, Malabar, Coalmine, Carapo, Sangre Grande, Manzanilla, Guaico Tamana, Vega De Oropouche, Maloney, and Five Rivers.

WASA advises that it might take up to 24 hours post-repair for the water service to return to normal in some areas, following the standard supply schedule.

For those impacted, a limited truck-borne service will be available upon request through the WASA Services App or their Customer Portal at www.wasa.gov.tt. Customers in need of more information can contact the toll-free Customer Call Centre at 800-4420/4426.
