REPAIRS to a leaking 21-inch pipeline located on the compound of the Police Academy in St James are completed.
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), in a media release on Sunday stated that the complex nature of the works which required supply isolation, the de-energising of an underground power line and removal of concrete infrastructure, were further delayed by persistent rainfall which slowed the mobilisation of heavy equipment.
Repairs were completed at 4 am on Sunday and the system gradually charged with full service restored at 9 am, WASA stated.
Customers are being further advised that it may take up to 24 hours for service to be restored to some areas in accordance with established supply schedules.
The Authority also thanked customers for their patience and understanding.
