TEMPORARY road works along the west-bound lane of the Beetham Highway, Sea Lots, are complete.

In a press release on Tuesday, the Water and Sewage Authority (WASA) stated that all temporary road reinstatement works along the west-bound lane of the Beetham Highway, Sea Lots, had been completed, allowing for the smooth flow of traffic into Port of Spain this morning.

WASA said permanent work would commence on Wednesday, but gave assurances they would not affect the travelling public.

Emergency pipeline work began on Monday after a water main burst near the Lighthouse.  WASA reported the burst pipeline had caused partial flooding on the roadway.

The situation drew ire from the travelling public, as they were unaware of the works happening, and traffic had already been compounded by the opening of schools.

Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath had since called for a report into the incident.

Calls and messages to Padarath on Tuesday to inquire whether he had received the report went unanswered.
