CHAIRMAN at the board of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) Ravindra Nanga is advising employees that documents pertaining to be from him are false.
In a message to all employees, Nanga stated that he was aware that the documents contained information, addressing a number of issues which were not true.
He stated, “Please note that we are aware that there are those out there bent on disrupting the transformation of the Authority. The Board is steadfast in its resolve to transform the Authority in the interest of the hardworking employees and the public.”
Nanga said, “I will endeavour my best to dispell all the rumours and falsehoods. I implore all employees to ignore false information being put in the public domain and only rely on official communication from the Authority.”
WASA, in a statement on Monday said, “The plan to transform the Water Authority is, by definition, multifaceted, multi-layered and will involve several coordinated initiatives, including a rate review, widening the use of technology and automation, cost rationalisation, organisational restructure, a reform of governance systems, upgrade of water production, transmission and distribution systems, and stakeholder communications.”
At least 200 managers are set to go home along with a number of lower-level staff members as WASA undergoes its restructuring process.
