Warriors Get Better of Tallawahs

GUAYANA Amazon Warriors came out with a 14-run win in the eighth match of CPL 2020 against the Jamaica Tallawahs at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Saturday night.

Warriors’ opener Brandon King top scored with 29 runs before he was bowled by Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Chandrapaul Hemraj and Ross Taylor both got 21 runs as they helped to keep the scoreboard ticking.
The Warriors finished on 118, with Tallawahs’ bowlers Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Carlos Brathwaite getting three wickets each.
In reply, the Tallawahs had a terrible start with both openers, Glen Phillips and Chadwick Walton, out for a duck.

Even a top score of 52 from Andre Russell was not enough to bring them to a win.
Player of the match was Naveen-Ul-Haq.
CPL action will continue on Sunday with only one game on the schedule, Trinbago Knight Riders against the Barbados Tridents.
