A 21-year-old Venezuelan national is arrested for the dead baby that was found in a dumpster in Maraval last week.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region One held the woman on Friday. The Counter-Trafficking Unit is with investigations, a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated on Tuesday.
A post-mortem examination conducted on the remains of the baby on Monday found that it was stillborn.
The infant was found in a garbage container by sanitation workers at the corner of Bowen Street and Saddle Road, Maraval, last week Wednesday.
Investigations were spearheaded by Snr Supt Singh, Supt Douglas and supervised by ASP Bridglal and Insps Lynch, Jones and Mongroo, all of HBI Region One, with the assistance of the HBI CCTV Technical Unit.
Investigations led by WPC Morgan-Job, also of HBI Region One, are ongoing into the above matter.
Mujer venezolana arrestada por bebé muerto
Un joven venezolano de 21 años es detenido por el bebé muerto que fue encontrado en un contenedor de basura en Maraval la semana pasada.
Oficiales de la Oficina de Investigaciones de Homicidios (HBI), Región Uno, detuvieron a la mujer el viernes. La Unidad Contra la Trata de Personas se encuentra realizando investigaciones, según indicó el martes un comunicado del Servicio de Policía de Trinidad y Tobago (TTPS).
Un examen post mortem realizado a los restos del bebé muerto el lunes encontró que el niño nació muerto.
El bebé fue encontrado en un contenedor de basura por trabajadores sanitarios en la esquina de Bowen Street y Saddle Road, Maraval, la semana pasada el miércoles.
Las investigaciones fueron encabezadas por el Snr Supt Singh, el Supt Douglas y supervisadas por ASP Bridglal e Insps Lynch, Jones y Mongroo, todos de HBI Región Uno, con la asistencia de la Unidad Técnica de CCTV de HBI.
Se están llevando a cabo investigaciones sobre el asunto anterior dirigidas por WPC Morgan-Job, también de HBI Región Uno.
