PRIME MINISTER Dr Keith Rowley is once again attempting to distract the population from his own leadership failures by making negative remarks against the Opposition.
In a press release on Friday, the United National Congress (UNC) condemned Dr Rowley’s statements made especially after controversial photos began being shared on social media.
At his press conference on Thursday, Dr Rowley said, “I don’t want to hear nothing from the Opposition about this particular matter on borders, because half of the whorehouses in this country is them bringing in people to make money there.”
The UNC stated, “Once again, Keith Rowley, in order to distract from his failure to secure the borders after fully six years in office, descends to disgusting ‘whorehouse’ insults against the Opposition. His allegations are, of course, baseless and are categorically denied.”
The UNC continued, “Yet at the same time as Rowley reveals on national television the nastiness in his mind, pictures are circulating on social media of Keith Rowley posing with the alleged owner of Copa Cabana hotel. This infamous hotel was raided by the police in 2018. Fifty-one persons, 35 women and 16 men were reportedly held, all Spanish speakers from Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.”
The Dominican Republic is also the country ruled in periods from 1960 to 1996 by the racist Caribbean dictator Joaquín Balaguer, whom Rowley compared himself to smilingly at the same news conference, the UNC added.
