Two Held with Firearms, Weed, Cocaine

TOCO – TWO men are arrested during a road exercise along the Toco Main Road on Thursday after they were found with firearms and drugs.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), in a media release stated that the items were seized by officers of the Eastern Division during an Operation Strike Back II exercise conducted in the Toco district.

It stated, “Officers under the supervision of acting Snr Supt Dominique, conducted a road exercise along the Toco Main Road, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday January 16, 2020, during which they had cause to stop and search a silver Nissan X-Trail with two male occupants.

“The search resulted in officers finding two shotguns along with four 12 gauge cartridges. Officers also found 12.34 kilogrammes of cocaine and 38.6 kilogrammes of marijuana in the vehicle.

“The suspects, a 41-year-old of Sangre Grande and a 25-year-old of Salybia, were arrested in connection with the finds.”
