THE Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA)  will need more time to deliberate over the draft guidelines for the re-opening of the new school term.

The Ministry of Education in a press release on Tuesday stated that Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly and Minister in the ministry Lisa Morris-Julian  met with TTUTA’s president Antonia De Freitas.

The ministry stated that the union indicated more time was needed.

“This would allow the union to meet with their members and make detailed recommendations for the operations of schools when physical reopening takes place. Some initial thoughts were shared with the Ministry’s team, with the promise of further elaboration in two weeks time,” the ministry stated.

Another meeting is scheduled for Friday with the ministry and other stakeholders including TTUTA.
